Gill grew up in Inverness and after a career in teaching started painting in pastel a few years ago. Mostly self-taught, she has already enjoyed several very successful solo exhibitions over the past seven years.
Her work is characterised by her impressionistic style and her wonderful use of colour. Gill excels in semi-abstract landscapes with a limited colour palette.

Suzanne is a self-taught oil-painter based in Forres. She has a background in landscape design and graphic design, but her real passion is for the visual arts. She chose to dedicate herself to this passion in late 2019.
As a keen observer of bird-life, of wildlife tracks in the mud, and of the light filtering through the canopy, Suzanne’s art practice is as much outdoors as it is in the studio.
Through working and living with the land in her background as an organic grower, Suzanne has developed an intimate connection to the natural world and this feeds her inspiration every day.
“When Nature fades from our hearts and minds, we become impoverished, uprooted, isolated. We often don’t realise how we long for this connection until we find it again. I paint to reveal the magic and the deep beauty of the world that surrounds us. Through my work, I invite people to realise that so much of the fulfilment we’re seeking is right here - in the morning fog lingering in the fields, in the crackle of distant thunder or in the graceful flight of the Heron.”

Lesley moved to Scotland several years ago from the North East of England where she had worked as a graphic designer and watercolour illustrator before taking a degree course in printmaking.
She now works professionally as an intaglio printmaker and oil painter where the two contrasting mediums give her alternative ways to portray the landscape. She loves the detail of a monochrome print but also the softness of colour that can be created using oils.
Her work is atmospheric and her more usual subjects are rocks, trees and the fantastic skies with the wonderful quality of light to be found in this part of Scotland.

Born in England into a family of artists, Naomi watched her grandparents paint both portraits and landscapes. Art has been a part of her life for as long as she can remember. She studied at Winchester school of Art for her foundation year, discovering a world of expression and sculpture. Then to Camberwell where she graduated in Fine art.
In awe of Quentin Blake's free and unique penmanship and the life-like skill of Chuck Close, Naomi’s work has been described as a vibrant fusion of the two. Naomi has exhibited across the UK including Farnham Maltings and The Troubadour, Earl’s Court. She has spent some time designing and painting sets for the theatre.
Trained as a Montessori she has worked as a teacher for many years. Recently relocated to Scotland with her husband and three children, Naomi is now heavily involved in her own commissioned portraiture work.

Tony Campbell graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee before becoming a teacher and lecturer. He admits that during his teaching career he had little time for his own painting.
Preferring to work outside, he works quickly to capture the fleeting nuances of light that create the colour, tone and mood of his work.
'I try to complete a painting within a few short hours on the spot with the finishing touches completed later in the studio. Working this way, I feel I'm able to preserve some spontaneity and freshness in the subject. My larger pieces are usually worked up from sketches and smaller paintings done at the location'
His work in the main is of coastal subjects on the Morayshire coast and at various locations on the west coast of Scotland where Arisaig, with the spectacular backdrop of the inner Hebrides and the mountains of Skye, is his favourite spot.

Jude has lived near the sea for much of her life, and the sea is probably her biggest inspiration. She grew up in a coastguard cottage opposite the Isle of Wight – but has lived in North East Scotland for more than 25 years. She takes her inspiration from walks on local beaches or in the spectacular landscape, but paints mainly in her garden or her garden studio, overlooking Findhorn Bay, the Moray Firth and beyond.
She began to focus on her own painting after spending many years editing and writing books on art history.
Working mainly in acrylic, watercolour, ink and mixed media, Jude continually experiments and explores different ways of expressing her response to the landscape and seascapes - creating textures, dripping and spattering paint, adding layers, rubbing back and scratching through the surface, often adding a shimmer of gold ink, metallic powder and gold leaf.
In the last couple of years, she has become fascinated with the expressive qualities of water colour: “I love the way you have to literally go with the flow, and let the painting paint itself… allowing happy accidents to lead you. Painting in watercolour has had a real impact on the way I use acrylic. My water spray bottle is never far away!”
Although we can supply giclee prints from Jude’s acrylics on canvas, they are much better appreciated as a canvas print at actual size, or smaller to customer order

David Lloyd was brought up in Lerwick, Shetland, Wick, Caithness and Aberdour, Fife and much of his work reflects his engagement with North East Scotland, its coast, buildings and people. Lloyd studied at Edinburgh College of Art in the 50s though to quote him, “I didn’t cover myself with glory - too many distractions for a teenager lately released from parental control I fear!”
After a long career in Advertising and Public Relations working for an American multi-national company in London, Sydney and Zurich, Lloyd retired in 1991 and returned to live in the small town of Keith, Banffshire. In order to make up for lost opportunity at ECA he would return to art school - specifically Grays School of Art in Aberdeen where he graduated with a Masters Degree in Fine Arts (MFA).
He now tutors in Art on a part-time basis. “The superb coastline of Moray provides me with inspiration.” He says, “Its ever changing moods, colour and topography are my major pre-occupation.”
David Lloyd exhibited in Australia, Switzerland, Germany and the USA

Janis graduated from Glasgow School of Art and taught art for many years before becoming a professional painter several years ago. She has moved from fairly representational work to the paintings that are often almost abstract. Colour and texture are vital in her work, underlying almost all her painting and allowing more personal expression, as she likes to use personal experience as the basis for her work. She now lives and works in Easter Ross.
‘As I get older, I find that I am drawn to two very different aspects of life at opposite ends of my artistic spectrum of inspiration. More and more, I love to paint the city with its noise and bustle, industrial structures, bridges, lights and people
At the other end of the spectrum lie the joys, peace, weather and mountains of the Highlands - every day presents a new idea, a new subject to tackle.
I also get great enjoyment from tongue-in-cheek painting, adapted from and inspired by Scottish life.
I just love to paint - it's as simple as that!'

Tamsin J Williams-Morrison BA is a graduate of Moray School of Art, University of The Highlands and Islands (UHI), with a BA(Hons) Degree in Fine Art. She trained in a number of differing art mediums and has always lived in the countryside, growing up on a dairy farm in Devon before moving to rural Banffshire in 1989.
'I have spent much of my life wandering through the landscape, alone with my thoughts, happy for a while to enjoy an unspoken connection with nature.
In my art, I attempt to capture this connection through light and its effects on the land, working intuitively with paint to bring forth an image within which the form, colour and texture capture the connection whatever that might be. I work with oils or watercolour, sketching on the spot, in pen and watercolour wash, before taking these sketches back to my studio along with reference photos to begin working on the final pieces.'
